"The Phillips Brothers" band has one of the most refreshing sounds to hit the Santa Cruz area music scene in a long time. Founded in 2001 by the brothers, Chris and Greg Phillips, this dynamic “Rock and Blues” band puts on an energetic show with lots of surprises. Set lists include some old favorites, but The Phillips Brothers make themselves stand out with the unexpected songs they cover.

Chris Phillips fronts the band with his collection of Gibson guitars and a strong vocal performance. The occasional harmonica solo is thrown in for good measure.

Greg Phillips drives the beat with his electronic drum kit that allows him to control the volume precisely. Members of the audience love to check out his drums and never fail to be impressed with his incredible sound and versatility.

Mark Chase completes the group with his driving Bass part that makes the three-man-band sound more like a four or five piece group.

They know how to get a crowd dancing and singing along, and have a sense of humor matched only by their energy level. This is one of the most entertaining bands you'll ever see in a club. A vast and unique repertoire, ranging from the 60s to original songs, keeps audiences returning to each show to see what will happen next!

Their new CD “Poverty & Pain” was released April 15, 2003 on CPE Records. The album features 12 original songs that range in style from Alternative to Rock to Blues.  Their high-energy performance, good-feeling lyrics, outstanding vocals and tasty guitar parts highlight their excellent songwriting ability.
